Emergency Medicine

Saint Anthony Memorial’s Emergency Department provides service 24 hours a day addressing the medical needs of the community. Located on the first floor of the new bed tower portion of the hospital the design allows immediate access to anyone requiring urgent medical care.

Board certification in Emergency Medicine is a requirement for all department physicians.  The Emergency Physicians work in tandem with a team of board certified nurse practitioners to facilitate thorough and expedient care in a 23-bed facility that incorporates a fast track area for less emergent conditions.

A patient focused design provides the latest in technology and is coordinated by a nursing staff certified in ACLS, TNCC, and PALS or ENPC.  An additional component to staffing is an implementation of Emergency Medical Technicians that act as an adjunct to the nursing staff.

To further coordinate emergency needs the department has an attached ambulance garage capable of accommodating six active EMS units simultaneously that enters directly into the trauma wing of the department.
